Soul on the Rock, 25th & 26th September 2004
Saturday - Villa Marina : -
The night started with a bang - Killer and Dave on the decks with a fantastic selection of class vinyl. It's always a pleasure to have Killer over on the Island. Niveene then played for the next hour, giving over to Carl and Tony Soul, who as usual, got the crowd up dancing with their mix of classic Northern & Motown.
We then had the pleasure of a brilliant set from our guest DJ Kev Sowerby, who was every bit the professional. He really looked like he was having a ball and the crowd loved him. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and and we would like to thank him for his contribution to a truly memorable night, and for bringing his wife and friends over to the Island with him - please come back again.
We finished the night with Carl & Tony again and they didn't disappoint - they kept the dance floor heaving until the end - well done everyone! Thanks also to Wayne, the sound man.
Sunday - BBQ at the Cat With No Tail : -
The weather may have let us down, but the music didn't. What a fantastic day - a great pub run by Tony and brilliant music played all day until 8pm. The only regret was that we didn't get to hear Kev Sowerby play, unfortunately he had to leave early. Nevertheless, all the DJs played in turn, including Steve Edgar, who shared the decks with Niveene. He has in the past played at our Soul on the Rock evenings and he has never disappointed.
We look forward to our Soul night on 27th November 2004 in Ramsey, when he will be our guest DJ. Tony was a brilliant host - the BBQ couldn't go ahead due to the weather, but he generously laid on a buffet, which was not only delicious but free!! - thanks Tony, it was much appreciated. What a fantastic weekend - We had loads of feedback and all of it good. Some even said the best one yet!
THANK YOU FROM ALL AT IOM SOUL CLUB- till the next time...........
